Abstract

comprises the use of pressure exerted between a rigid metallic roller, endowed with hollow holes (the desired pattern to be imprinted), and a roller of flexible material. Due its flexible constitution, the nonmetallic roller pressures areas of the paper - or stack of sheets of paper- into the holes of the rigid metallic roller. A smooth sheet of paper is glued over and compressed against the paper layer thus formed, while the last one still has areas inside the holes of the rigid roller. In consequence, the smooth sheet only adheres to the areas of the paper that are outside the holes of the rigid roller, imprisoning air between the paper layer introduced in said holes and the external sheet applied on it. The result is an embossed multilayer absorbent product with imprisoning air bubbles that presents the same pattern imprinted in the metal roller.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS Received by the International Bureau on 08.Oct.2009 (08.10.2009)
1- Process of manufacturing a multilayer absorbent product initiated for unrolling one or several sheets of paper (1) and group the sheets, forming a stack of sheets with faces A and B; passing said sheets (1) through a nip of a rigid roller (2) and a flexible embossing roller (3), comprising: a) The embossing roller been the flexible smooth roller (3) that compresses areas of the sheets of paper (1) into recesses (4) of the rigid roller (2); c) Applying a sheet or stack of sheets (5) covered with adhesive over the embossed papers (1) pressing a roller (7) on the roller (2).
2- The process of manufacturing of claim 1 wherein said step of applied a sheet or stack of sheets (5) to the embossed papers (1 ) includes unroll the sheets (5) simultaneously to the sheets (1 ) and direct these sheets (5) into opposite direction of the movement of the sheets passing through the rollers (2 and 3);
3- The process of manufacturing of claim 1 wherein alternatively sprinkles adhesive (12) over the sheets (1) before the same reach the rollers (2) and (3);
4- The process of manufacturing of claim 1 wherein alternatively the lower face of the sheet (5) receives adhesive (13) and is covered by a not adherent film;
5- The process of manufacturing of claim 4 wherein the not adherent film is silicon paper;
6- The process of manufacturing of claim 4 wherein the adhesive face (6) of sheets (5) is turned waterproof; 7- Multilayer absorbent product constituted for a layer of one or more sheets of paper (1 ) with a outer salient pattern (8) that imprisoned air inside (9), comprising a smooth layer of one or more sheets (5) joined to the sheets of paper (1). 8- Multilayer absorbent product of claim 7 endowed with external adhesive (13) re-covered by a not adherent film;
9- Multilayer absorbent product of claim 7 wherein the not adherent film is silicon paper;
10- Multilayer absorbent product of claim 7 wherein the stack of paper (5) is turned waterproof.
