Abstract
By definition, the moment of a force is the measure of its turning or twisting effect about a given axis and is determined by the product of the force and its perpendicular distance from the axis. COUPLE - When two equal but oppositely directed parallel forces are combined, the resultant is zero but the sum of the moments will not be zero. Such a pair of forces is known as a force couple-and possesses certain important properties. The following propositions regarding force couple may then be deduced: 1. The moment of a force couple is always the product of one of the forces and the distance between them. 2. The moment of a force couple is independent of the position of the axis of moments. 3. A force couple may be moved to any other position in its plane or a parallel plane without changing its effect. 4. A force couple can be balanced only by the addition of another force couple of equal but opposite moment. It can be inferred from number four (4) that a pair of force couple in a swastika fashion having the same moment could be a very strong pair of force couple. By definition, 1 Oersted = 4π / 10 x NI / cm. In 1930, this definition of Oersted was adopted by the I.E.C. Prior to that time the Oersted had been used in the United States as the unit of magnetic reluctance. In 1947, when I finished my Baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering at Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT), without their knowledge and consent, I discovered that the definition of an Oested is a Free Energy Device Equation. This F.E.D. equation will prove that the laws of thermo dynamics lack universal validity. When a magnetic Rotor Disc is equipped with a suitable shaft and bearing and placed in a suitable magnetic stator disc so design for rotation, when a solenoid is placed around this apparatus, this becomes a Free Energy Device repulsion type motor of disc configuration. Depending upon choice and design, if we select a soft magnetic material, we will be using a few Oersted. On the other hand, if we select a hard magnetic material, we would be using thousands of Oersted, but there will be no power consumption anymore.
