Abstract

The invention relates to a method for processing a gas containing H2S into sulphur, in which the gas is contacted with a catalyst that comprises a substrate made of an SiC porous foam having a specific surface BET higher than 1 m2/g, preferably higher than 5 m2/g, a density between 0.1 g/cm3 and 0.4 g/cm3, and an active phase containing at least one transition metal element.
