Description

Description FLATE SPEAKER
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a flat speaker, and more particularly, to a flat speaker, which can reduce the space occupied by the speaker in an electronic product as much as possible by implementing an outer appearance of the speaker and main components provided in the speaker in a rectangular shape. Background Art
[2] General speakers generate sound by vibrating a diaphragm by the movement of a coil when a current flows through thecoil in a magnetic field using a magnet, and are classified into a cone type, a dome type, a horn type, and so on.
[3] The speaker comprises a vibration system including a diaphragm, an edge, a voice coil, a damper, a center cap, etc., a magnetic circuit including a magnet, a center pole, a yoke, a plate, etc., and a body including a frame, a gasket end, a surface diagonal line, etc.
[4] A circular magnet is used for the magnetic circuit so as to produce a strong and uniform magnetic field, and an air gap is provided between a central magnetic pole and the yokein order for the voice coil to move along the air gap.
[5] A negative current applied from the outsideis inputted into the voice coil through the surface diagonal line, and the voice coil is placed within the magnetic field formed by the magnet. When a current flows therein, the coil is subjected to force and moves according to the Fleming's left-hand rule.
[6] Since the diaphragm is connected to the coil, when the coil moves, the diaphragm moves tooand a sound is generated. Further, the edge is made of a soft material, so that this makes the diaphragm smoothly move, thereby improving the low sound characteristic. Disclosure of Invention
Technical Problem
[7] Although a general cone type speaker can reproduce a relatively wide range of frequencies, the vibration of a diaphragm cannot follow the vibration of a voice coil in a high frequency region, and thus vibrations full of ups and downs are generated, thereby deteriorating the tone quality. Due to this disadvantage, it is difficult to uniformly reproduce theentire frequency band by a single cone-shaped speaker. Thus, the frequency range is divided for a multiplicity of speakers.
[8] However, the thus -constructed speaker is problematic in that a speaker unit of an electronic product incorporating a speaker becomes larger by an increase in installation space, andtherefore it is necessary to ensure an enough installation space of the speaker system. [9] In order to solve the above-described problem of the cone-shaped speaker, recently, there have been devised various types of flat speakers.
Technical Solution [10] Accordingly, the present invention has been made in an effort to solve the foregoing problem, and has its object to provide a flat speaker, which can reduce the space occupied by the speaker in an electronic product as much as possible by implementing an outer appearance of the speaker and main components provided in the speaker in a rectangular shape. [11] Accordingly, the present invention has been made in an effort to solve the foregoing problem, and has its object to provide a flat speaker, which can reduce the space occupied by the speaker in an electronic product as much as possible by implementing an outer appearance of the speaker and main components provided in the speaker in a rectangular shape.
Advantageous Effects
[12] According to the thus-constructed flat speaker according to the present invention, the space occupied by the speaker in an electronic product can be reduced as much as possible by implementing an outer appearance of the speaker in a rectangularshape.
Brief Description of the Drawings [13] FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a flat speaker according to the present invention. [14] FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view taken along line A-A' in a coupled state of the flat speaker as shown in FIG. 1. [15] FIG. 3 is a partial cross sectionalview taken in a longitudinal direction in a coupled state of the flat speaker as shown in FIG. 1.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention [16] Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of a flat speaker according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Mode for the Invention [17] FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a flat speaker according to the present invention. [18] First, the flat speaker according to the present invention comprises, as shown in FIG.
1, a speaker unit 10, a base frame 20, a yoke 30, a magnet 40, a plate 50, a coil plate
60, a diaphragm 70, and a damper 80. [19] The speaker unit 10 is a case for accommodating respective components of the speaker, which may be manufactured in various shapes suitable for the installation space of anelectronic product where the speaker is to be mounted.
[20] The base frame 20 is mounted on top of the speaker unit 10 opened in a rectangular shape. A coupling face 23 corresponding to side upper end portions of the speaker unit 10 is formed at upper end portions of the lateral surface of the base frame 20, and a plurality of fastening holes 28 to be fastened by screws are formed at the lower surface contacting the yoke 30.
[21] The yoke 30 is mounted inside the base frame 20, is formed in a U-shape opened at the top part and both sides, and is provided with a plurality of fastening grooves 34 to be fastened by screws at the lower surface thereof contacting the base frame 20.
[22] Further, an attachable/detachable member 32 is attached to the opened both sides of the yoke 30, the attachable/detachable member 32 is formed in a H -shape in which its both side ends are bent and projected and is attached at a position facing side portions of the plate 50.
[23] Although the attachable/detachable member 32 is designed so as to be attachable to and detachable from the yoke 30, the attachable/detachable member 32 may be formed integral with the yoke if required.
[24] The magnet 40 is mounted on the bottom surface of the yoke 30, being spaced a predetermined gap apart from inner wall faces formed at both sides of the yoke 30, and the plate 50 is mounted at the top side of the magnet 40.
[25] A coil 62 is wound around the coil plate 60 which is a board material of a rectangular shape, such as, for example, synthetic resin, which is bonded to the lower surface of the diaphragm 70.
[26] The diaphragm 70 is made of synthetic resin or paper, is mounted through the edge
74 connected to the base frame 20 so as to be situated on the top side of the plate 50, and has an insertion groove 72 having a rectangular shape formed on the lower surface thereof.
[27] The damper 80 is arranged on the opened both sides of the yoke 80, one side of which is attached to the lower end of the coil plate 60 and the other side of which is attached to the lower ends of the opened both sides of the yoke 30.
[28] A connector terminal 12 for inputting an external signal applied from a sound device, for example, a home appliance, to the coil 62 wound around the coil plate 60 is installed on one side or the lower surface of the speaker unit 10. A connection hole 26 for connecting the connector terminal 12 and the coil 62 is formed at both side portions of the base frame 20.
[29] A mounting face 22 for connecting to the edge 74 is formed on the upper part of the base frame 20, and a plurality of through holes 24, for example, having a circular or rectangular shape, are formed thereon to make the flow of air smooth when the diaphragm 70 connected through the edge 74 vibrates. [30] FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view taken along line A-A' in a coupled state of the flat speaker as shown in FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a partial cross sectionalview taken in a longitudinal direction in a coupled state of the flat speaker as shown in FIG. 1. The operating principle of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGs. 2 and 3.
[31] First, in the flat speaker according to the present invention, for example, when an external signal is applied from a sound device, for example, a home appliance, through the connector terminal 12 installed in the speaker unit 10 as shown in FIGs. 2 and 3, the external signal is applied to the coil 62 wound around the coil plate 60. According to the Fleming's left-hand rule by the signal applied to the coil 62, the coil plate 60 spaced a predetermined gap apart is inserted at a right angle between the yoke 30 and the plate 50, and accordingly the diaphragm 70 vibrates in upward and downward directions to produce a sound and output it to the outside.
[32] That is to say, the diaphragm 70 performs a vibrating movement with various amplitudes and periods according to the magnitude and direction of the signal applied to the coil 62 wound around the coil plate 60. With such vibration, a sound is generated and outputtedto the outside.
[33] Further, the base frame 20 is installed between the yoke 30 and the speaker unit 10, and a plurality of through holes are formed in the base frame 20, thereby ensuring a smooth air flow in the speaker unit 10 upon a vibrating movement of the diaphragm 70.
[34] The coil plate 60 is fitted to an insertion groove 72 of the diaphragm 70. When winding the coil 62 on a thin plate, such as synthetic resin, there are difficulties in the operation process, including inconsistency in winding positions of the coil 62 and irregular winding spacing between the coil 62 and the coil 62. Also, the coil 62 wound around the coil plate 62 may be moved and deformed in shape by an external shock in an assembling process of the flat speaker.
[35] Consequently, a support member 64 for guiding the position of the coil to be wound andsuppressing the movement of the wound coil is attached to an upper end portion of the coil plate 60, and fitted and mounted to the insertion groove 72 of the diaphragm 70.
[36] The damper 80 arranged at the opened both sides of the yoke 30 is formed in a shape in which, for example, the center portion is curved in the opposite direction. Since one side of the damper 80 is attached to a lower end portion of the coil plate 60 and the other side thereof is attached to a lower end portion of the opened sides of the yoke 30, the coil plate 60 can move upward and downward while maintaining a predetermined gap between the yoke 30 and the plate 50 upon upward and downward vibration of the diaphragm 70. [37] By attaching the attachable/detachable member 32 at a position facing the side portions of the plate 50 on the opened both sides of the yoke 30, the damper 80 can be mounted on a lower space in which the attachable/detachable member 32 is situated.
[38] Here, the yoke 30 can be fastened to the base frame 20 by fastening the fastening grooves 34 formed on the lower end surface thereto through screws 90 or by applying an adhesive or the like on the lower end surface.
[39] Further, by arranging the damper 80 between the coil plate 60 and the yoke 30 can reduce, noise of the flat speaker can be reduced. For reference, most of conventional flat speakers do not include a damper.
[40] As described above, it is possible to maintain a predetermined gap without any interference of the coilplate between the yoke and the plate upon upward and downward vibration of the diaphragm by attaching an attachable/detachable member to the opened both sides of the yoke and mounting a damper in a lower space to which the attachable/detachable member is attached, one side of the damper being attached to a lower end portion of the coil plate and the other side thereof being attached to a lower end portion of the yoke.
[41] The above-described preferred embodiment of the present invention is disclosed for illustrative purposes. Those skilled in the art can achieve modifications, variations, substitutions or additions with various other embodiments within the spirit and technical scope of the present invention disclosed in the accompanying claims. Industrial Applicability
[42] As described above, the flat speaker according to the present invention can reduce the space occupied by the speaker in an electronic product as much as possible by having the outer appearance of a rectangle.
