Abstract
Device for blocking the slide or rotation around an axis, for instance of a window sash in relation to the frame, with overload protection, comprising at least a casing, slider and a mechanism pressing the slider to the casing, in which, as a consequence of the application of a required force to the axis (7) of the slider intermeshed with the casing, balanced by slider springs (9), the braking surfaces are moved against each other, an operation resulting in a reduction of the thickness of the slider, which allows to unlock and move it free of damage.
Description
Device for blocking slide or rotation with overload protection- Invention description
The invention, intended for application in joinery, is a device for blocking the slide or rotation around an axis, for instance of a window sash in relation to the frame, with blocking parameters determined by the construction of the device.
A recent invention referred to in patent application PCTVPL 2006/000089 is a device for blocking an open window (Fig. 1,2) triggered using the window handle via furniture. The casing (1) of the device, fixed in the window sash, contains a wedge mechanism (3) which, when triggered, presses the slider (2) to casing (1) and results in friction on the contact surface that blocks the window. The connection of the slider (2) with the window frame through the rocker (4) fixed (on both sides) in the slider and the frame allows for the blocking of the sash in a selected position.
A disadvantage of the above device is that the elements of the device wear off when force is applied to the blockade and the consequences thereof.
The discussed invention is to be free of this disadvantage and its blocking parameters adjustable.
The said limitation of invention PCT/PL 2006/000089 is removed from the discussed invention by appropriately selected mechanisms and/or shaping the elements of the slider to eliminate or limit forces perpendicular to the direction of the slider, responsible for the friction.
So far the springs operating perpendicularly to the direction of the slider protecting the device from overloading has been replaced with springs operating parallel to the direction and the slider mechanisms and/or structure (Fig. 3-7) have been designed in a way that allows the slider to be unblocked by the change in its thickness caused by mutual parallel slide of the braking surfaces. The force needed for this slide and the unblocking of the device should overcome the resistance of the slider springs (9).
Figures 3-9 are diagrams presenting some ways of removing the disadvantage of invention PCT/PL 2006/000089.
Fig. 3 presents a blocked slider with elements 6 and 8 shaped to reduce the thickness of the slider when intermeshed after overcoming the resistance of springs (9), which unblocks the device. The resistance of springs can be adjusted as required for reasons of functionality or safety using screws (10), pads (12), wedges (11) or in a different way. To facilitate the return of elements 6 and 8 to the original position we applied additional springs (13). Fig. 3 also presents an additional element (5) intermeshing with the slider at the moment of triggering the brake. Element 5 is immobile in relation to the casing on the plane of operation of resultant blocking forces and mobile enough in a direction perpendicular to the plane. Thanks to this, the slider's size and blocking/braking surface can be significantly reduced and effectiveness increased. Also, this eliminates the harmful effect of the slider on elements 2 and 3 and vice versa, which often results in the device being unblocked or worn off.
In fig. 4 is a device with a different version of the slider in which the friction between elements 6 and 8 is eliminated using rolling elements 14 and between elements 8 and the
casing - rolling elements 15. Thanks to the structure of element 83 the slider's thickness can be increased in the initial stages of operation, owing to which the device can be developed to be triggered with a clearance eliminated at every attempt to move the slider. This allows to limit resistance of triggering the device, increase the allowance of production affecting the number of flaws, production costs and failure-free operation.
Fig. 5 presents a slider with a multiple wedge mechanism that changes the thickness of the slider by moving its elements 6, 19 and 8 using a force applied to axis 7 or element 6 balanced by spring 9 deflecting by the time of unblocking the slider.
Fig. 6 is a fragment of a slider with a double eccentric in elements 16 that allows for initial elimination (described above) of clearance to reduce the thickness of the slider by moving elements 8 and 6 in an opposite direction to unblock and move the slider.
Fig. 7 is a fragment of a slider with eccentrics (17) and/or levers (18) allowing to change the thickness of the slider and to unblock it.
Fig. 8 presents a special example of a slider with a pressing element and an infinite number of eccentrics. Any point A, after application offeree P, will be moved by eccentric to position A', thus reducing the slider thickness.
Fig. 9 presents a slider with elements, preferably rolling elements, moving perpendicularly to the direction of the slider.
Claims
1. Device for blocking slide or rotation comprising at least a casing, slider and a mechanism for pressing the slider to the casing with mechanisms and/or slider elements in which the mutual slide of the braking surfaces of a blocked slider, parallel to the principal braking forces, which is restrained by slider springs operating in the same direction, changes the slider's geometric dimension perpendicular to the forces, which allows to unblock and move the slider.
2. Device as in claim 1 in which the braking force parameters are determined by the materials and construction of the slider, including adjustment mechanisms and elements.
3. Device as in claim 1 in which the same and/or additional springs and/or mechanisms are applied to bring the elements of the slider to their original positions.
4. Device for blocking slide or rotation comprising at least a casing, slider and a mechanism for moving the slider to the casing in which an additional element is applied that connects the slider with the casing, whose surface allows it to intermesh with the slider. The element fixed permanently (to the casing) perpendicularly to the resultant braking forces and fixed in a way allowing for required movement parallel to the forces.
5. Device as in claim 1 in which the thickness of the slider is reduced after blocking thanks to the intermeshing of protruding, specially shaped surfaces or a set of wedges or eccentrics.
6. Device as in claim 1 in which it is possible to adjust the force necessary to unblock the slider separately for each direction by selecting spring parameters and/or initial relative position of elements 6, 8 and 9.
7. Device as in claim 1 in which the design of elements 6, 8 and 15 allows for the increase of the thickness of the slider in the initial phase of unblocking it, which helps to eliminate clearances.
