Abstract
The invention relates to a control device and a control method for an internal combustion engine which can be operated in at least two operating states, measurement variable detection means detecting at least one measurement variable and operating state prediction means being adapted to predict an operating state to be selected in the future, using the detected measurement variables. The invention further relates to a control device and a control method for an internal combustion engine which can be operated in at least two operating states. A measurement variable detection means detects at least one measurement variable and at least one characteristic matrix in which a plurality of values of at least one measurement variable is associated with a plurality of values for at least one parameter characterizing the operating state and the plurality of values for at least one parameter is modifiable depending on the output of the measurement detection means, using adaptation means.
