Abstract
An automated deodoriser including insect repellent and sanitiser for refuse container. A unit is mounted internal or external to a refuse container such as a waste bin, industrial bin or wheelie bin; if the unit is mounted externally a hol is present to facilitate access to the inside of the bin. The unit includes a mountable housing, a spray can containing a mix of deodoriser, insect repellent and sanitiser, an actuator and timer or transmitter/receiver components. The unit is not activated by the closing of the bin lid however, can be operated manually, via the timer or via the remote transmitter and receiver system; ideally the unit is activated prior to opening of the refuse container. The unit is securely fastened to the refuse container, allowing it to remain in position at time of rubbish removal and the housing can be locked with a key.

*******CLAIMS ******* Benefits of the BinClenz / BinScents design.
1) The current design is a manual operating unit which means that until the lid of the bin is physically lifted and then shut none of the spray is released. This means the bin smells nice after you have Closed the lid and walked away.
BinClenz /BinScents is not only a manual design, but also it can work on a timer or a transmitter receiver option. This means (especially the latter) that you can walk outside your house and press a button on the wall etc this activates the BinClenz / BinScents unit via an actuator/solenoid or servo unit which then moves in a downward motion pressing the nozzle of the spray can for approximately 3 seconds containing not only a pleasant scent, but also a sanitiser and insect repellent This means that when you reach your bin and open the lid to put your rubbish inside, you are greeted with a pleasant odour. The actuator/solenoid/servo unit then returns to its' original position until activated again.
2) The current unit according to the designer (s) has to be unclipped from the bin every time the bin is emptied, this is to prevent the unit from falling into the rubbish truck. & then having to be replaced with a new unit.
BinClenz / BinScents is held to the bin not only by a clamp / bracket at the top of the unit, but also down the inside of the unit is a. wide, long piece of strong double sided tape holding it securely to the bin. This not only means that the binsense / binscents unit does not need to be taken off and on come collection day, but the unit will not be lost to the tip.
3) Because the current unit is manually operated, the temptation for young children to see it as a novelty is highly possible. Every time the lid is closed it presses the nozzle on the spray, this is both a possible health risk and is not cost effective.
BinClenz / BinScents prevents this in 2 ways. Firstly because the unit needs the button to be pressed to activate it (which would be situated out of small children's reach) and secondly by incorporating a key and lock system on the BinClenz / BinScents unit Simply push the key into the lock, turn the key which unlocks the unit, then replace the empty can with a new one and then close the unit, (It's all set to go again)
4) The current unit is a deodoriser and fly repellent whereas BinClenz / BinScents is a combination of a deodoriser / sanitiser and also a bug / insect repellent..
5) (a) BinClenz / BinScents can be situated on the inside of the bin via a bracket/clamp (refer to diagram) in conjunction with the use of double sided tape or alternatively (b) the unit may be fixed to the outside of the bin again incorporating the use of a bracket/clamp and double sided taps, or alternatively (c) the unit can slide into a moulded pocket/pouch on the outside of the bin allowing the unit to spray contents through a small pre-drilled hole in the bin, (refer to diagram)
Options (b) and (c) are subject to bin manufacturers and local council's approval and authority.
6) The BinClenz/BinScents system is designed for use in wheelie bins, large industrial bins and also smaller bins in and around the home, office, workshop and wherever bins are located.
The BinClettz/BinScents designs are prototypes and all sizes, and shapes of components as well as materials used are subject to change at the discretion of David Castle and/or Joseph Saleh and/or any other person/s authorised to do so by David Castle and/or Joseph Saleh.
