Abstract

A non-invasive system and method for determination of cardiac output and blood volume of a patient. A dialysis probe wrapped around a blood tubing of the dialysis machine attached to the patient, to illuminate and detect the corresponding light effects. A probe calibrator to calibrate the dialysis probe prior to dialysis process. The cardiac output is determined on a patient undergoing hemodialysis based on the detected light effects.
