Abstract

A method of accurately shaping the inner surface of a pipe. A pipe (3) is set in a shaping die (4), and an elastic tube (5) is inserted into the pipe (3). Then, pressurized fluid, such as oil, is supplied into the elastic tube (5) inserted in the pipe (3). This inflates the elastic tube (5) radially outward, causing a shaping projection (7) to plastically deform a part of the pipe (3) to form a rib (3a).
