[35] The first fastening part 126 is opened at the side surface thereof such that one side of the waist band 170 is inserted thereinto in such a manner as to be slid to the left and right sides, and the second fastening part 128 is opened at the top and side surfaces thereof such that the other side of the waist band 170 is inserted thereinto in such a manner as to be slid to the left and right sides and at the same time to be detachably mounted thereonto.
[36] The cover 130 is attached at the rear side of the body 121 so as to cover the interior of the body 121 and has a second center shaft 132 protruded at the center of the inner surface thereof, the second center shaft 132 having a screw part 134 formed along the outer periphery thereof.
[37] It can be moreover appreciated that the first and second center shafts 124 and 132 formed on the body 121 and the cover 130 are concave inwardly on the center portion thereof (see FIG.3 (a)).
[38] The rotating means 140 basically includes a driving plate 142, a wire member 150, a return spring 154, and a rotary plate 156.
[39] The driving plate 142 is formed to pass through the center portion thereof such that a screw part 144 is mounted onto the center portion formed to pass therethrough, and has a pulley part 146 and a friction part 148 disposed sequentially on the rear side thereof. At this time, the pulley part 146 has a shape similar to a general pulley, and the friction part 148 having a disc-like shape is attached integrally on the front surface of the pulley part 146. Desirably, a friction member 162 having an excellent friction force is provided on one surface of the friction part 148, that is, the front surface of the friction part 148. In this case, the friction member 162 is made of a non- woven fabric, rubber, or embossing material (see FIG.3(b)).
[40] The wire member 150 includes the first wire 150a and the second wire 150b. The first wire 150a is attached at one end thereof on the top end of the right side of the pulley part 146 and is wound at the other end thereof along the lower periphery of the pulley part 146 in such a manner as to be extended outwardly. The second wire 150b is attached at one end thereof on the bottom end of the left side of the pulley part 146 and is wound at the other end thereof along the upper periphery of the pulley part 146 in such a manner as to be extended outwardly. The first wire 150a and the second wire 150b are wound along the pulley part 146, which prevents the deviation thereof from the pulley part 146, and if the first and second wires 150a and 150b pull to the outside, the driving plate 142 is rotated clockwise. Further, the first wire 150a and the second wire 150b have a coupling terminal 152 provided at the ends thereof so as to be easily coupled to the waist band 170 (see FIG.3(b)).
[41] The return spring 154 is disposed between the driving plate 142 and the cover 130
of the buckle body 120. That is, the return spring 154 is fitted around the outer periphery of the second center shaft 132 of the cover 130 and is fixed at one end th ereof to the cover 130 and fixedly attached at the other end thereof to the driving plate 142 (see FIG.3(b)).
[42] The rotary plate 156 is provided in front of the driving plate 142 in such a manner as to be coupled to the first and second center shafts 124 and 132 of the buckle body 120 by means of a center shaft 158 provided at the front and back sides thereof, thereby obtaining a rotating force. So as for the rotary plate 156 to have an excellent rotating force, at this time, a small-sized ball bearing may be additionally provided at the coupling portions between the center shaft 158 and the first and second center shafts 124 and 132.
[43] Desirably, the friction member 162 is provided on one surface of the rotary plate
156, that is, the underside of the rotary plate 156. In other words, the driving plate 142 has the friction member 162 provided on the front surface thereof, and the rotary plate 156 has the friction member 162 provided on the underside thereof in such a manner as to abut against the friction member 162 on the driving plate 142.
[44] Moreover, the rotary plate 156 has a plurality of balance weights 160 insertedly provided along the outer periphery thereof. The plurality of balance weights 160 serve to provide a centrifugal force to the rotary plate 156 (see FIG.3(b)).
[45] As shown in FIG.4, the both ends of the waist band 170 are illustrated. The waist band 170 is inserted at one side thereof into the first fastening part 126 of the body 121 and has a fastening groove 172 formed at the end portion thereof so as to fasten the protruded coupling terminal 152 of the first wire 150a of the rotating means 140 thereto. On the other hand, the waist band 170 is inserted at the other side thereof into the top surface of the second fastening part 128 of the body 121 and has a cut groove 174 formed at the end portion thereof in such a manner as to be opened at the bottom surface thereof so as to fasten or unfasten the coupling terminal 152 of the second wire 150b thereto/therefrom.
[46] At this time, the cut groove 174 is desirably formed such that the top portion thereof becomes small in width and the bottom portion thereof becomes large in width, so as to easily fasten the coupling terminal 152 of the second wire 150b thereto and to maintain the fastened state after the fastening.
[47] FIG.5(a) is a separate horizontal sectional view showing the functional belt according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, FIG.5(b) is an assembled horizontal sectional view showing the functional belt according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, and FIG.5(c) is an assembled longitudinal sectional view showing the functional belt according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
[48] Referring first to FIG.5(a), the body 121 and the cover 130 in the buckle body 120 are separated from each other. The first fastening part 126 of the body 121 is adjacent to one side of the waist band 170, and the second fastening part 128 of the body 121 is adjacent to the other side of the waist band 170.
[49] The rotating means 140 is separately disposed between the body 121 and the cover
130. That is, the return spring 154, the driving plate 142 and the rotary plate 156 are sequentially disposed at the rear side of the rotating means 140, and the first wire 150a and the second wire 150b of the wire member 150 are wound around the driving plate 142.
[50] Now, an explanation on the coupling relation of the functional belt 100 as constructed above will be given.
[51] Referring to FIG.5(b), first, the return spring 154 is fitted around the outer periphery of the second center shaft 132 provided on the cover 130, and the driving plate 142 is screw-coupled to the second center shaft 132 provided on the cover 130. After that, the return spring 154 is fixed at one end thereof to the cover 130 and is fixed at the other end thereof to the driving plate 142. Then, the rotary plate 156 is provided supportedly by means of the first center shaft 124 and the second center shaft 132, and the cover 130 is coupled to the body 121. At this time, it should be appreciated that the driving plate 142 and the rotary plate 156 are spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance.
[52] The first wire 150a that is wound around the driving plate 142 is protruded through the first small hole 129a to the outside of the first fastening part 126, and the second wire 150b is protruded through the second small hole 129b to the outside of the second fastening part 128. At this time, so as to protrude the first and second wires 150a and 150b, the coupling terminals 152 are separated from the end portions of the first and second wires 150a and 150b, and next, after the first and second wires 150a and 150b are protruded through the first and second small holes 129a and 129b, the coupling terminals 152 are attached again thereto. Otherwise, the first and second wires 150a and 150b with the coupling terminals 152 attached thereto are previously mounted during a process of forming the body 121, and next, they are wound around the driving plate 142.
[53] After that, one side of the waist band 170 and the end portion of the first wire 150a are coupled to each other. First, the coupling terminal 152 of the first wire 150a is protruded to the outside of the first fastening part 126 and is then inserted into the fastening groove 172 formed on one side end of the waist band 170. Then, the coupling terminal 152 is inserted into the first fastening part 126 together with one side of the waist band 170. In addition thereto, of course, the coupling may be carried out through a variety of methods, and an explanation on them will be avoided for the brevity of the
description.
[54] Referring to FIG.5(c), the other side of the waist band 170 is inserted downwardly through the top surface of the second fastening part 128 formed on the body 121. During this process, the cut groove 174 formed on the other side of the waist band 170 serves to fasten the coupling terminal 152 of the second wire 150b thereto. Of course, if the other side of the waist band 170 is moved upwardly, it is demounted from the second fastening part 128 and is also released from the second wire 150b. So as to make it convenient to wear, like this, the other side of the waist band 170 is configured detachably from the buckle body 120.
[55] If coupled as mentioned above, while both sides of the waist band 170 are being fastened to the coupling terminals 152 of the wire member 150, they are slid to the left and right sides within the first fastening part 126 and the second fastening part 128 of the body 121.
[56] Hereinafter, an explanation on the functions and operations of the functional belt according to the present invention will be given.
[57] FIG.6 is schematic view showing the operations of the functional belt according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
[58] Referring first to FIG.6(a), the functional belt 100 of the present invention is worn around a wearer's abdominal area, like generally belts.
[59] Referring next to FIG.6b, it can be understood that as the wearer breathes or wants to forcedly expand his abdominal area 200, the abdominal area 200 becomes expanded. As the abdominal area 200 is expanded, both sides of the waist band 170 are slid toward the outsides and at the same time pull out the first wire 150a and the second wire 150b. As a result, the wire member 150 is pulled to permit the driving plate 142 to be rotated clockwise. Of course, since the driving plate 142 is screw-coupled to the second center shaft 132 of the cover 130, it is rotated and at the same time is moved forwardly. At this time, the return spring 154 disposed between the driving plate 142 and the cover 130 is extended by the forward movement of the driving plate 142.
[60] Further, the advancing driving plate 142 is moved by a given distance toward the rotary plate 156 disposed in front thereof and then abuts against the rotary plate 156. At this time, since the driving plate 142 is rotated, the rotary plate 156 is rotated in the same direction as the driving plate 142. In this case, since the friction member 162 having an excellent friction force is provided on the surfaces of the driving plate 142 and the rotary plate 156 abutting against each other, the driving plate 142 can rotate the rotary plate 156 more easily. Moreover, since the plurality of balance weights 160 are provided along the outer periphery of the rotary plate 156, the rotary plate 156 can be rotated well by the formation of the centrifugal force thereon.
[61] Referring finally to FIG.6c, the wearer's abdominal area 200 is contracted like
FIG.6(a). If the abdominal area 200 is contracted, the force of sliding the waist band 170 to the outside disappears such that the driving plate 142 is rotated reversely by the restoring force of the return spring 154 disposed between the cover 130 and the driving plate 142, while moving to the cover 130. At this time, even though the driving plate 142 is moved back, the rotary plate 156 receiving the rotating force of the driving plate 142 is slightly rotated.
[62] Next, if the wearer's abdominal area 200 is expanded again, the driving plate 142 is rotated clockwise and moved forwardly, thereby transmitting the rotating force to the rotary plate 156. As a result, the rotary plate 156 can be more strongly rotated. If these motions are repeatedly carried out, the rotary plate 156 can be continuously rotated based on the principle of spinning a top. Of course, the rotary plate 156 is not easily rotated for the first time, but it can be rotated easily through the wearer's continuous practice and training.
[63] The rotation of the rotary plate 156 can be easily checked out to the outside by means of the viewing window 125 disposed on the body 121.
[64] According to the functional belt 100 of the present invention, therefore, the length of the waist band 170 is varied appropriately in accordance with the wearer's abdominal pressure, and upon the variation of the length of the waist band 170, moreover, the rotary plate 156 of the rotating means 140 provided inside the buckle body 120 is rotated. The rotation of the rotary plate 156 is checked out to the outside through the viewing window 125, which causes lots of interest to the wearer. So as to keep the rotation of the rotary plate 156, as a result, he repeats the expansion and contraction of his abdominal area. This gives high exercising effects to the wearer, while of course providing lots of interest to him.
[65] Furthermore, the plurality of balance weights 160 provided along the rotary plate
156 being rotated may be arranged unbalancingly to one another, thereby inducing the swing effect of the rotary plate 156, which of course gives substantially stronger abdominal exercising effects to the wearer.
[66] Additionally, the buckle body 120 is provided with a light emitting means like a light emitting diode that emits light therefrom with a power source obtained by the rotating force of the rotary plate 156, which of course gives stronger interests to the wearer.
[67] Even though not shown, also, a refraction body or a pigment changing by heat may be additionally provided in the buckle body 120, which is varied by the rotation of the rotary plate 156.
[68] Moreover, the rotary plate 156 and the driving plate 142 may be changed at their position to each other such that the rotating rotary plate 156 is rotated near the wearer's abdominal area, thereby giving much load to the wearer's abdominal exercise.
[69] While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is not to be restricted by the embodiments but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention. Industrial Applicability
[70] As mentioned above, the functional belt according to the present invention is provided with the rotating means that is mounted onto the buckle body, such that the rotation of the rotating means gives lots of interest to the wearer, which enables him to interestingly take the abdominal exercise. Therefore, the functional belt according to the present invention is very useful in the industrial fields.
