Abstract
A seat structure having improved vibration absorption characteristics. A seat cushion section (10) has a synthetic resin base frame (12) supported by a side frame (11) via a first elastic support mechanism (17), a synthetic resin upper-layer frame (13) supported by the base frame (12) via a second elastic support mechanism (18), an intermediate cushion material (14) placed between the base frame (12) and the upper-layer frame (13) with a part of the intermediate cushion material engaged with the base frame (12), and an upper-layer cushion material (15) for covering the upper-layer frame (13). In the structure above, the two elastic support mechanisms are arranged in series, and this produces a phase difference between motion of the base frame (12) induced by vibration inputted via a vehicle body floor and transmitted to the base frame (12) and motion of the upper-layer frame (13) induced by the vibration further transmitted to the upper-layer frame (13). As a result, in particular, low frequency vibration is effectively absorbed and damped.
