Abstract
A gantry (3) is provided on a base (1). A rotator support (6) having a hollow portion is provided on the opposite side of the gantry (3) from the insertion/removal portion for inserting/removing a small experimental animal (H). A donut-shaped rotator (7) rotatable around an axis along or parallel to the direction of insertion/removal of the small experimental animal (H) is provided to the rotator support (6). A radiation source (5) rotatable together with the rotator (7) is attached to the rotator (7) through a radiation source support member (8). A CCD camera (18) is provided on the base (1) on the opposite side of the rotator support (6) from the gantry (3) in the moving direction of the rotator support (6). A personal computer (19) having a second monitor (11b) is connected to the CCD camera (18). The state of the small experimental animal (H) in the gantry (3) is observed through the hollow portion of the rotator (7). Thus, the state of the small experimental animal (H) is observed in detail by watching the video displayed on the second monitor (11b).
