Abstract

Intended is to provide an ink cartridge, which is stabilized in the flow of ink to be fed therefrom to an ink-jet recording apparatus. Provided is a liquid container (1) comprising a vacuum establishing member housing chamber (3b), into which the atmosphere is introduced. This housing chamber (3b) has a liquid discharge port (11) and houses a vacuum establishing member (4b). Further comprised are a liquid containing chamber (2) for containing a liquid, a partition wall (23) for partitioning the vacuum establishing member housing chamber (3b) and the liquid containing chamber (2), a liquid passage (14) formed in the partition wall (23) for feeding the liquid from the liquid containing chamber (2) to the vacuum establishing member housing chamber (3b), and an air introduction chamber (17) having a capillary force and made separate from the liquid passage (14), for feeding the air from the vacuum establishing member housing chamber (3b) to the liquid containing chamber (2) while bypassing the partition wall (23).
