Abstract

An optical scanner comprises a drive plate (30) having a planar piezoelectric film (20) formed in the center on a planar thin plate (10) such that the long axis direction of the piezoelectric film (20) becomes substantially parallel with that of the thin plate (10), a portion (40) for fixing the substantially central portion of one side edge of the drive plate (30) substantially parallel with the long axis direction thereof to an outer frame (1), displacement transmission arms (51, 52) constituted of two portions (11, 12) of the thin plate (10) formed along the side edge of the drive plate (30) substantially parallel with the short axis direction thereof near the opposite ends of the side edge on the side opposite to the fixing portion (40) side in the drive plate (30), and mirror drive arms (71, 72) formed in parallel with the long axis direction of the drive plate (30) while connecting the points (61, 62) remote from the oscillation center line of a mirror portion (4) with the distal ends of the displacement transmission arms (51, 52) in order to oscillation drive the mirror portion (4).
