Abstract

An elevator system that is capable of switching a part of a plurality of elevators under a group management and control to a dedicated operation, wherein degradation in operating efficiency of overall system can be prevented, while making switch-over to a dedicated operation at an earlier time. For such a purpose, the elevator system includes a call registration device for an elevator user to register a destination floor before going on board, and a dedicated operation switch-over device to send a switch-over request for switching a part of a plurality of elevators to a dedicated operation. Further, upon reception of the switch-over request from the dedicated operation switch-over device, a service time for destination calls that have been registered by the call registration device is calculated for such a part of elevators. Based on the calculated service time, a service is provided for a part of the destination calls within a range not in excess of a specified threshold, while no service is provided for a rest of the destination calls to switch such a part of elevators to the dedicated operation.
