Abstract

The invention relates to a self-piercing rivet (1) comprising a spike (2) able to pierce a workpiece that is to be riveted, a head (3) able to accept an external force in order to allow piercing, and a body (4) extending from the spike (2) to the head (3). The body (4) comprises, at its peripheral surface, at least two grooves (5) which run in the longitudinal direction of the rivet (1).
