Abstract

It is intended to provide a tumor marker by which poor prognosis cases can be distinguished from good prognosis cases at a high discrimination ratio among gastrointestinal stromal tumor cases. A medicinal composition for treating a gastrointestinal stromal tumor of a patient who is defined based on the expression of DDX39 from among patients suffering from gastrointestinal stromal tumor, which comprises as the active ingredient 4-(4-methylpiperazin-1-ylmethyl)-N-[4-methyl-3-(4-pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidin-2-ylamino)phenyl]-benzamide represented by the following formula (I): [Chemical formula 1] (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and a kit and a method for estimating the prognosis of a patient suffering from gastrointestinal stromal tumor.
