Abstract

It is disclosed that a metal complex, which has a structure wherein monomolecular monomers comprising a cluster moiety M4O consisting of four metal ions (M) and oxygen atoms (O) connecting these metal ions to form a tetrahedron and six monocarboxylic acid molecules surrounding the same are integrated together via a non-binding interaction, undergoes phase transition for a gas species of a definite type and thus adsorbs/desorbs the gas species.
