Abstract

 現フレームの画像データと、現フレームよりも1フレーム前の画像データとの組み合わせに応じた強調変換パラメータに基づいて現フレームの画像データを強調変換処理する強調変換部(2)と、強調変換部(2)によって強調変換処理された画像データに応じた画像を液晶表示パネル(4)に表示させる駆動部(3,5,6)とを備えた液晶表示装置(1)において、装置内温度を検出する温度センサー(7)と、液晶表示パネル(4)に対する外部からの入射光の光量を検出する光センサー(9)と、上記装置内温度および上記光量に基づいて液晶表示パネル(4)の温度を算出し、算出した液晶表示パネル(4)の温度に応じて強調変換処理に用いる強調変換パラメータを変更させる制御部(8)とを備える。これにより、外光入射によって液晶表示パネル(4)の温度が変化した場合であっても、液晶表示パネル(4)の光学応答特性を適切に補償することができる。
