Abstract

A sound recognition device for an audio apparatus, wherein the sound recognition processing operation is performed in such a manner that an echo attenuator section (2) eliminates an audio signal included in the signal representing sound collected by a microphone (1) as an output. A sound recognition result determination section (9) determines a score, a sound zone detection result, and user operation that are output from a sound recognition section (7). An audio output control amount decision section (8) decides the amount of volume attenuation such that an audio signal output level never exceeds a specified value. An audio output control section (14) controls attenuation in output level of the audio signal output from an audio playback section (12) according to the decided volume attenuation.
