Abstract

Provided is a solid state imaging device which can detect light of a plurality of reference colors for reproducing a color by using one pixel without using a color filter. The solid state imaging device (100) includes: a solid state imaging element (110) having a plurality of pixels; a spectral device (130) which separates an incident light into a plurality of reference colors of light and applies the light to a light reception plane where the pixels of the solid state imaging element are arranged; and a controller (control unit) (120) which controls an imaging operation in the solid state imaging element and a color separation operation performed by the spectral device. The controller (120) controls the voltage applied to the optical member so that a reflected light Lr reflected by the optical member and travelling toward the solid stage imaging element is separated into the plurality of reference colors by a change of the refraction factor caused by the electric field in the optical member.
