Abstract

A digital broadcast receiving device comprises front ends each including a reception unit for receiving a digital broadcast wave, a channel selection unit for selecting a channel number of the digital broadcast wave received by the reception unit, and a temporary judgment unit for temporarily judging whether the digital broadcast wave exists in the selected channel number according to whether a specific signal can be obtained by demodulating a signal outputted from the channel selection unit, an extraction unit connected to one of the front ends for extracting specific information from the demodulated digital broadcast wave outputted from the connected front end, a storage unit for storing channel numbers in which the digital broadcast wave is temporarily judged to exist by the temporary judgment units of the front ends, and a control unit for instructing the channel selection unit of the front end connected to the extraction unit to select the channel number stored in the storage unit. While the specific information is extracted from the demodulated digital broadcast wave outputted from the front end connected to the extraction unit, the control unit instructs the channel selection unit of another front end to select the next channel number.
