Abstract

The invention relates to a method for controlling the start phase of a generator, coupled to an internal combustion engine for generating electrical power from the rotational energy of the internal combustion engine. The method comprises the steps: (a) recording the beginning of the start phase; (b) operating the electrical generator according to a control parameter and c) suppression of sudden increase in the control parameter during a protection interval. The protection interval begins and ends during the start phase.
