Abstract

Disclosed is a wavelength filter comprising two linear optical waveguides (109, 110) so arranged as to intersect each other, a ring-shaped optical waveguide (108) so arranged as to optically coupled with the linear optical waveguides (109, 110) respectively, and a heater (112) provided on the ring-shaped optical waveguide (108) for changing the effective refractive index of the ring-shaped optical waveguide (108).
