Abstract

The invention finds application in the art of processes and apparatus for microwave sterilization of food products, in which food products are packaged in microwave containers or trays (11) and in which sterilization is carried out by application of heat, by means of microwaves with repeated or alternate heating steps. The present apparatus is of modular type and reads or possibly acquires the points or areas of the trays (11) having different temperatures, to identify which areas are colder or more ineffectively served by the generators (15) and thence adjust process parameters or the position of generator outlets (15b) (and hence the microwaves), by placing them on different areas during the next step of the process with repeated or alternate steps.
