Field of the Invention:
The present invention relates to a novel configurable display screen interacting with a mobile device for making transactions. More particularly, it pertains to a system and method for implementing a payment gateway over a mobile communication network.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
The increasing mobility of the society creates a constant demand for modes of payment which can be initiated via mobile terminals, such as mobile communication devices or the like devices.
The manner in which transactions being carried out today is very restrictive and inflexible. There is a requirement by which goods and services can be purchased and sold and payment made instantly while being on the go.
Conventional methodology frequently uses credit cards. The entry of columns of figures and of prices seems very difficult, particularly in the case of small terminals.
Furthermore, the use of credit cards involves a high security risk.
Moreover, such conventional methods of secure access and electronic payment require highly sophisticated method and/or equipments, such as finger print, smart card, and/or other password based security/encryption to prevent ID forgery. Even with costly software and hardware investment they are still vulnerable to some technically or non- technically stealing methods.
Traditional internet base login and payment methods are very vulnerable to many stealing/forgery practices, account number stealing, virus attacks, wiretapping, phishing and etc. There is a great demand of method that's practical, secure and low cost. The method presented in this invention satisfies all the criteria.
The measures provided today still offer scope for providing more features and flexibility. Also, for value added serviceover mobile phones the chunk of the payment is taken by the service provider and not the content owner. This way the content owners are actually held to ransom as there is no alternative mechanism. Thus, there is a requirement for a methodology to bypass the service provider in order for the content owner to get his required benefit and share in such transactions.
Further limitations and disadvantages of conventional and traditional approaches will become apparent to one skilled in the art, through comparison of such systems with some aspects of the present invention. The novel and inventive features believed characteristics of the invention are set
forth in the appended claims. The invention itself, however, as well as preferred modes of use, further objects and advantages thereof, will be best understood by reference to the following detailed description of illustrative embodiments when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings .

The following detailed description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense.
FIG. 1 illustrates a schematic diagram of a system for implementing a payment gateway over a mobile communication network. The system comprises a telecommunication network 108 having interactive means coupled with short range wireless network and world wide web, a mobile communication device having interactive means in a short range wireless zone 107, a telecom service provider server 109 capable to send receive data/information, a shopping establishment (SE) system 105 having interactive means to process the request, a smart - IB box 106 capable of sending and receiving data/information, a central server capable of interpreting received messages from Smart - IB 106 and user's mobile communication device 104, a display screen 101 having display means operable to display data/information.
FIGS. 2 and 3 depict a block diagram of the method for implementing a payment gateway over a mobile communication
network. The method comprises the steps of detecting a request from a mobile communication device, initiating a user preferred schedule for pushing data/information in response to the request, connecting to a mobile payment gateway to process the purchase mode of the request, forwarding the request to a central server, authorizing and allowing the request by central server, enabling the request through short range wireless media, GPRS, MMS and the like.
The user' s request depending on the data/information sought may further be sent to third party servers through the central server. The central server retrieves the information so desired from such third party server. The central server schedules the data/information according to the preferred mode of request. It then packages the information in a presentable format and transmits the said information to the mobile device.
FIG. 4 illustrates the hardware elements of the shopping establishment (SE) system employed. SE system includes receiving means 401 to receive requests, transmitting means 402 to transmit data/information, storage means 403 to store data/information, input means 404 for the data/information, output means 405 for the data/information.
In a preferred embodiment user disposes himself to the content being displayed on the display screen. User promptly decides to purchase the product and/or services being displayed on the display screen. User may download an application using short range wireless on the mobile communication device. Alternatively, user may promptly recall an already installed application on his/her mobile communication device. User may be disposed to different
option/previews of the product on the mobile device and display screen. User may select to purchase the product/service being offered. User may either connect the mobile communication device to an already existing mobile payment gateway or may contact a vendor of a shopping establishment .
The vendor receives the payment given by the user and interacts with the central system by feeding the details of the payment so received. The central system acknowledges the receipt of the payment and a unique payment ID is generated. The user provided with the unique payment ID so generated prompts to enter the unique payment ID on the interface available in the mobile communication device. The unique ID is transmitted to the central server where the ID is authenticated for the payment so received. Once the system authenticates the whole transaction the requested information is promptly made available to the user for his services. The data/information so provided on the request of the user after receiving the payment may be provided to user through short range wireless media, GPRS, MMS and the like.
Secure payment gateways of different banks are provided now on the mobile phone making it possible to hold secure transactions whenever we want and wherever we are.
Also, as an extended facility as a result of various tie- ups, more flexible solutions may also be offered.
For example, a user may interact with the described novel system installed on the computer of an operator at a shopping establishment and the novel interactive display screen installed at the said shopping establishment. The
user may select a song to purchase while interacting with the screen. The user may decide to purchase the desired song then and there. Using Bluetooth technology, he may download it onto his phone and listen to a preview. When finally the user decides to purchase it, he makes his payment to the operator at shopping establishment. The operator records this payment using the application on his computer and gets a unique payment ID through the server. In turn, the user who has purchased the song also gets the same unique payment ID on his phone. The user, then communicates this ID to the display screen and the song is delivered.
This way, the user made the payment in the shopping establishment itself and purchased the song instantly. Also, the retailer now acts as a payment collection agent and gets a predetermined commission. There is no requirement of any scratch cards or credit cards and the delivery of goods is made separately as the case may be. The proof of purchase and receipt is delivered along with the goods.
