Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a protective layer on a metal workpiece that is to be processed using an electrochemical process. In said method, a voltage is applied between at least one electrode (12, 14) and at least one subarea of the workpiece (10), said voltage producing an electrically non-conducting passivation layer (20) on the workpiece surface in said at least one subarea of the workpiece (10) by means of an electrolyte (16) in accordance with the metallic composition of said at least one subarea. The invention further relates to a component of a gas turbine or a high-pressure or low-pressure compressor.
