Description

Valve, especially for flow water heaters
The subject of this invention is the valve, especially for flow water heaters.
Widely known valves regulating water flow are equipped with a knob, used for regulating cold or hot water inlet into the tap. In some cases opening of the valve might be inconvenient due to occupation of hands.
There is a known valve which its head is fixed with a tab containing three grooves flexuous in shape, located simmetrically towards the axis and shifted towards each-other at an angle of 120°. These grooves are used as slides for tips of screws embedded in the sleeve. Body of the valve is affixed to body of the tap. Change in position through interaction between screws and grooves of the spout joined with head of the valve causes axial movement of valve' s head towards the sleeve of the body and opening of the valve. Such construction of the valve enables its opening through change in position of the spout. It makes the opening easier without using the knobs.
The essence of this invention is that the body of the valve has a shape of a sleeve and is equipped with seats and balls situated inside them, while at the same time located in the flexuous grooves of the head.
This solution enables usage of plastic materials to produce the head and the body of the valve. The seats might also have a shape of cylindrical hollows in outer sleeve with perpendicular axis towards the axis of the head. In another version the seats have spherical hollows in the outer sleeve and the balls are secured by means of the ring set in the outer sleeve. There is another anticipated solution where the seats will have shape of grooves alongside the inner surface of the outer sleeve and the balls are secured by means of wedges fitted for the grooves in the sleeve. In another solution the seats have shape of two-stage openings in the outer sleeve and the balls are secured by means of discs fitted for openings in the sleeve.
The subject of this invention is displayed on the drawing, where Rg.1 presents half-section of open valve, Fig.2 half-section of closed valve, Fig.3 view of the head, Fig.4 section A-A with Fig.3, Fig.5 perspective view of the valve head, Fig.6 cross-section of the valve body, Fig.7 perspective view of the body, Fig.8 section of the outer sleeve, Fig.9 perspective view of the outer sleeve, Fig.10 half-section of the valve with the seat for a ball in the outer sleeve, Fig.11 section of the outer sleeve, Fig.12 perspective view of the outer sleeve, Fig.13 section of the valve with a ball secured by means of a sleeve, Fig.14 section of the outer sleeve, Fig.15 perpective view of the outer sleeve with exposed groove for a ball, Fig.16 section of the ring, Fig.17 view of the ring, Fig.18 section of the valve with the balls secured by means of keys, Fig.19 section of the outer sleeve with seats for the balls, channels in shape, Fig.20 perspective view of the outer sleeve with securing key, Fig.21 view of the key, Fig.22 section of the valve with secured balls by means of discs, Fig.23 section of the outer sleeve, Fig.24 view of the sleeve, Fig.25 view of the disc securing the ball.
In the body 1 of the valve joined together with the outer sleeve 2 there is the valve head 3 embedded and rotating. The valve head 3 is equipped with two waved grooves 8 whereas the body 1 conteins openings 10, with balls 4 located in such way, so they partially fill up the grooves 8. The grooves 8 make a slide for the balls 4. The outer sleeve 2 equipped with inner keys 11 which longitudinal grooves 9 in the body 1 relate to, is joined together with the head 3. The grooves 9 of the body 1 as well as related keys 11 of the outer sleeve 2 assure the torque while installing the valve to the body of a tap. The outer sleeve 2 holds the balls 4 in the openings 10 of the body 1 and at the same time in the grooves 8 of the head 3. There is a spout 12 mounted to the head 3 in such way, that change in position of the spout causes a turn of the head 3 towards the body 1 and at the same time through the balls 4 cooperating with the grooves 8, an axial shift so as depending on position of the spout, opening or closing of the valve is taking place. Fig.l presents perpendicular position of the spout 12 towards the body of the heater' s tap with exposed location of the outlet opening 7 above the edge 13 which closes the outlet opening 7 of the head.
As it is shown on Fig.2 the spout 12 is located with acute angle towards the frontal surface of the heater' s tap and in this position the valve head 13 is shifted downwards in such manner, that the opening 7 is located beneath the edge 13 which closes the openings 7 of the body and the gasket 6 closes the water outlet.
Fig.10, Fig. 11 and Fig.12 present a solution where the balls 4 are located in the seats with a shape of cylindrical grooves 15 in the outer sleeve 14.
Fig.13, Fig.14, Fig.15 , Fig.16 and Fig.17 present solution where the seats in the outer sleeve have a shape of spherical hollows 17 and the balls are secured by means of rings 18.
In solution presented on Fig.18, Fig.19, Fig.20 and Fig.21 the seats have shape of grooves 21 and the elements 20 that secure the balls 4 have a shape of wedge fitted for the shape of the grooves 21 in the sleeve 19.
Fig. 22, Fig.23, Fig.24 and Fig.25 present solution where the outer sleeve 22 have two-stage openings 24 and the balls 4 are secured by means of discs 23 fitted for the openings 24.
