Abstract

 透明電極が形成された一対の対向するプラスチック基板と、該対向するプラスチック基板の間に配置したギャップを規定するためのスペーサと、前記対向するプラスチック基板の間に挟持された液晶材料とを備えた液晶表示素子において、前記液晶表示素子は、表示部(3)、スイッチ部(4)、及び周辺領域部(2)を有し、該各部における前記スペーサの配置密度が異なり、周辺領域部(2)、表示部(3)、スイッチ部(4)の順でスペーサの配置密度が高くなるようにした。
