Abstract

A backlight chassis (1) includes at least a base section (12) covered with a fluorescent tube (31). The base section (12) includes a main base piece (12M) and a sub base piece (12S). There is a difference between the height of the main base piece (12M) and the sub base piece (12S). The higher main base piece (12M) is covered with a fluorescent tube (31), and the lower sub base piece (12S) is covered with the fluorescent tube (31) and an inverter substrate (31) connected to the fluorescent tube (31).
