Abstract

A transmission method which ensures efficient cell search even when a mobile station never previously knows a scramble sequence of a cell having the access privilege. Within a service area consisting of a first cell, provided are a plurality of second cells each having a cell radius smaller than the first cell. A wireless base station (10) belongs to the first cell, while two wireless base stations (20) belong to each of different second cells. A transmitter section (11) sends a synchronized channel at a specified bandwidth, while transmitter sections (21, 21a) send synchronized channels at any bandwidth which is different from the specified bandwidth and is different with each other. A control section (31) limits the bandwidth for detection of the synchronized channels to the specified bandwidth, or limits the bandwidth for detection of the synchronized channels to the specified bandwidth and the bandwidth corresponding to any permitted one of second cells when the access to any one of second cells is permitted.
