Abstract

A valve (10) comprises a body 12, a flap 14 that can pivot relative to the body (12) and a latch (16) that can pivot relative to the flap (14). The body (12) defines a passage (24) that is connectable to a fluid source and a discharge opening (28). The flap (14) has a seal (44) and can pivot between a closed position in which the seal (44) closes the discharge opening (28) and an open position in which the seal (44) is spaced from the discharge opening (28). The flap (14) is biased to urge it towards the discharge opening (28). The latch (16) includes a grip formation (56) and a lock formation (58,64,66) and can pivot between a lock position in which the lock formation (58,64,66) resists pivotal motion between the flap (14) and the body (12), thus holding the flap (14) in its closed position, and a free position in which the flap (14) can pivot freely relative to the body (12).
