Abstract
The current development is applied as an innovating low density biodegradable polymeric medium for the bio-repair of hydrocarbons and substances in the liquid state which contain carbon molecules in its structure, non-soluble in water or poured in non-porous surfaces with efficiency greater than the existing products. Of granular constitution, the material promptly adsorbs the contaminants in rations of weight and volume of excellent efficiency and bio-degradability. On account of being a polymer of 90% of cells closed and by the characteristics of its basic substances, it presents a negligible degree of toxicity. However, we stress as unique characteristics the bases of its primary substances, for up to the present date all the existing polymeric substances were not biodegradable. In the current process, we came up with the improvement of the basic elements using a Vegetable Polyol liable of biodegrading we launched into the environment and providing a considerable reduction in the biodegradation time of oils.
Description
DESCRIPTION
"IMPROVED SYSTEM AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF BIO- REPAIR OF SUBSTANCES IN THE LIQUID STATE WHICH CONTAIN CARBON MOLECULES IN ITS STRUCTURE "
The current request for privilege of patent of invention refers to a productive system in industrial scale, which consists in introducing a blend (a set of chemicals). For injecting into molds (blocks or similar), later fragmentation into adequate sizes, crushing of the fragmented product to specific granulometry, transfer by a pneumatic system, storage into silos and packing into various packages (bags, big- bag's, barriers and final product filters); a process of blending chemicals (granulated polymer) for bio-repair of hydrocarbons insoluble in water and/or of substances in the liquid state which contain carbon molecules in its structures, being the granular medium formed by a reaction of a formulated Vegetable Polyol pigmented in the color green, blue, red or yellow and an isothermal blend of Methylene Biphenyl Isocyanate, having water as an expander, associating to these a group of bio-repair and bio-catalyst bacteria. The need for the current development becomes evident when we face a reality of permanent risk of oil spills to the environment. This spill declines from its handling, whether in oil extraction fields, petroleum (onshore and offshore), transport (oil pipelines, tanks, trucks, trains and ships) and storage (barrels, plastic containers, tanks, etc.); on account of equipment fault (rupture of pipes, tanks, connections, valves, etc.) and human errors (operational faults ).
Currently, one of the techniques employed for the removal of hydrocarbons and products in the environment, when accidents occur, is the use of materials with the power of adsorption, such as: sawdust, cotton wool, blends of cellulose, turfs and others. However, these materials present the inconvenience of substantially increasing the volume of residues as a function of its non-degradability; they promote, at times, greater damage to the environment, in some instances causing the sinking of oils with the increase of their densities and/or affinity with the hydric medium; also, occurring the process of leaching (release of the oil initially adsorbed), resulting in the pollutant's return to the environment. The use of bio-repair material presents expressive advantages in relation to the above mentioned products, for the polymeric bio-repair when there is interest in collecting on account of the property of becoming an excellent organic manure (seen that it acts by a physical action of adsorption and not by chemical reaction made potent by the action of said bacteria); of lower density (even when associated to the oils) and by being chemically apolar undergoing full rejection by the hydric medium ensures a permanent floatability, of catalytic action on complementing the Valance of the carbon molecules, it promptly eliminates adherence, viscosity and spreading of the adsorbed liquids, preventing the reintroduction and the respective contamination of the environment.
The industrial production system of the current invention presents five distinct phases, namely:
1. Substances blending process - This phase is proceeded from the blend of the formulated Vegetable Polyol substances pigmented in the color green, blue, red or yellow 100 p/p (density.g/cm3 0.6/1.5) (viscosity CPS 600/900) with an isomeric blend of Methylene Biphenyl lsocyanate 156 p/p (density.g/cm3 1.20/130) (viscosity
CPS 100/350) and the junction in pre-defined proportions of the already mentioned bacteria of 1 / 10 %, obtaining a final density between 25/55 Kg/m3 in a low pressure injection machine.
2. Injection of blend - After preparing the blend of substances, this is injected into its own shapes where the expansion and drying of the adsorbing block (curing process) will take place.
3. Block fragmentation - After the curing period, the de-molding of the adsorbing block and the cutting to an adequate size for going into the mill (30cm x 30cm) is carried out. 4. Crushing of fragments - insertion of the fragmented bio-repair block in the mill promoting the granularity between 3.0 / 20.0 mm. Transferred by pneumatic system for conditioning of the final product - Simultaneously to the crushing, by means of a pneumatic system, the granules are conveyed and conditioned directly to the packages, which will be sealed and stored.
The object of the current Request for Privilege of Patent, titled "IMPROVED SYSTEM AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF BIO- REPAIR OF SUBSTANCES IN THE LIQUID STATE WHICH CONTAIN
CARBON MOLECULES IN ITS STRUCTURE", comprises an innovating low density polymeric medium for bio- repair of hydrocarbons and substances in liquid state which contain carbon molecules in its structure, insoluble in water or poured in non-porous with greater efficiency than the existing products. Biodegradable, conceived in granular form, the material promptly adsorbs the contaminants in a weight/weight ration in the range of 1Kg to 7Kg on account of being a polymer composed of 90% of closed cells and by the characteristics of their basic substances, presents a negligible degree of toxicity, stressing as a unique characteristics the bases of their primary substances, seen that up to then, the existing polymeric substances did not present bio-degradability and, in the present system and process, we came up with the innovation of manipulating the basic elements, using them in a specific manner and purpose.
