Abstract

A quick hitch coupling, for detachably connecting two inter-related components such as a debris-collecting component (10) and an impeller/power source (14) of a hand held outdoor vacuum device, to each other is disclosed. The device includes a plurality of pins (26) mounted about the opening in one of the components (10) and a locking element (44) mounted about the opening of the other component (14). The locking element (44) has a plurality of recesses into which the pins (26) of the component (10) extend in order to connect the components (10, 14) together. The construction and arrangement obviate the need to rotate or move either of the two components (10, 14) in order to detach, and couple, the components (10, 14) to one another. The locking element (44) also includes a lever projecting outward there from in a radial direction to enable a user to rotate the locking element.
