Abstract

Disclosed is a method for producing a rod-like semiconductor nanoparticle having high luminous intensity. Also disclosed is a biological substance-labeling agent using such a rod-like semiconductor nanoparticle. The rod-like semiconductor nanoparticle is obtained by a method for producing a rod-like semiconductor nanoparticle utilizing a reversed micelle, which is characterized by using 0.01-0.1 mol of a surfactant per 1 mol of a nonpolar solvent.
