Abstract
A base station specifies for a radio terminal, a ranging region in a radio frame which allows transmission of a predetermined signal string (such as a ranging signal) and specifies a transmission power increase amount P (dBm) of the ranging signal transmitted by a predetermined slot within the region. The radio terminal transmits the ranging signal more than once by the predetermined slot within the ranging region specified by the base station while changing the transmission power P (dBm). The base station creates transmission power adjustment information in accordance with a reception result of the ranging signal of the maximum reception intensity among the ranging signals transmitted more than once and transmits information specifying the transmission power adjustment information and the ranging signal of the maximum reception intensity to the radio terminal. The radio terminal adjusts the transmission power of time by using the transmission power adjustment information and the transmission power of the ranging signal of the maximum reception intensity.
