Abstract

A recording device (1) comprises recording means (221, 23) for recording data by irradiating a recording medium (100) with a laser beam (LB) whose power can be adjusted, first control means (27) for controlling the recording means so as to interrupt the recording of recording data, detection means (28) for detecting an amplitude of a recorded push-pull signal that is obtained by reading the recorded data that is recorded just before interrupting the recording, calculation means (27) for calculating the most appropriate power according to the ratio of the amplitude of the recorded push-pull signal to the amplitude of the no-recorded push-pull signal obtained in the recording area in which the recording data is not recorded, and second control means (24) for controlling the recording means so as to restart the recording of the recording data when irradiated with the laser beam with the most appropriate power.
