Abstract
A moving image coding apparatus, moving image coding method, and program allowing a plurality of record modes to be displayed simultaneously on a screen prior to shooting a moving image, and simultaneous checks to be performed on the qualities of the images which are recorded in the plurality of record modes. The moving image coding apparatus (100) performs, in a coding section (120), coding of an image input from the input section (101) without having it displayed on a display section (119), and reconstructed images output as a result of the coding are displayed on the display section (119). A record mode control section (118) divides a single screen into a plurality of areas upon coding, and controls the coding section (120) to perform the coding in different image shooting modes (coding mode) for the respective areas. The coding section (120) outputs to a frame memory (112), the reconstructed images coded in the plurality of modes within the single screen. The display section (119) displays the reconstructed images output by the coding section. In this way, the reconstructed images coded in the plurality of image shooting modes can be displayed within the single screen.
