[23] Fig. 8 is a perspective view showing an adjusting status on both sides according to the present invention. Mode for the Invention
[24] Preferred embodiments of an apparatus for practicing golf swing according to the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[25] As shown in Fig. 1 to Fig. 3, the apparatus for practicing golf swing according to the present invention comprises a circular swing track (14) for a golf club (4) to be slidingly rotated, a support member (8) installed to support the swing track (14), and a base (10) provided to prevent the support member (8) and swing track (14) from moving.
[26] The apparatus for practicing golf swing according to the present invention, as disclosed in Fig. 1 and Fig. 4, comprises a swing track (14) having the shape of a band with thin thickness and wide width so as to allow a deformation toward a center of the swing track, and a plurality of adjusting stoppers (12) arranged at the upper and lower part of the swing track to modify the trajectory of swing track (14).
[27] The adjusting stopper (12) comprises, as shown in Figl, Fig. 4 and fig. 5, an adjusting pipe (40) coupled to a supporting pipe (18) which is connected to a support member (8), a connecting pipe (42) vertically coupled to the adjusting pipe (40), and a fourth adjusting bolt (44) threadedly coupled to the adjusting pipe (40) for changing the vertical height of the connecting pipe (42).
[28] The adjusting stopper (12) is configured to adjust the height of a swing track (14) according to a golfer's height. Preferably, four adjusting stoppers (12) are installed on the upper and lower position of the swing track (12) at both sides.
[29] A supporting pipe (18) connects two adjusting stoppers (12) arranged on the upper and lower position of the swing track (12). The support member (8) is vertically arranged with inclination to stably support the swing track (14) at both sides.
[30] The supporting pipe (18) is coupled to the top of the support member (8) by a hinge
(24) and connected to a support member (8) by an inclination adjuster (26). In this construction, the inclination of a swing track (14) can be changed by adjusting the inclination adjuster (26).
[31] The hinge (24) comprises a hinge body (28) configured to adjust the height of the swing track (14) and a first adjusting bolt (30) threadedly inserted into the hinge body (28) to fix the supporting pipe (18). The height of the supporting pipe (18) can be
changed by adjusting the first adjusting bolt (30).
[32] The supporting pipe (18) and the support member (8) is connected by an inclination adjuster (26). The inclination adjuster (26) comprises a holder (32) which the supporting pipe (18) is inserted into, and a slot member (36) connected to the support member (8) by a second adjusting bolt (38). A reference numeral 34 denotes a third adjusting bolt for fixing the supporting pipe (18) which is inserted into the holder (32) of the inclination adjuster (26).
[33] The height of the swing track (14) can be adjusted by adjusting the first adjusting bolt (30) and third adjusting bolt (34) according to the physical condition of a golfer. The inclination angle of the swing track (14) can be adjusted by adjusting the second adjusting bolt (38).
[34] As shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the swing track (14) further comprises a plurality of pressing members (48) arranged at one end of the connecting pipe (42) for pressing the surface of a band-shaped ring (46) to vary the trajectory of the swing track (14).
[35] The configuration of the band-shaped ring (46) of the present invention, unlike conventional ring (s) in Fig. 3, can be changed easily by pressing the outside surface of the ring (46).
[36] As a consequence, it becomes possible to form various swing trajectories by utilizing the elastic characteristics of the band-shaped ring (46).
[37] As shown in Fig. 4, the pressing member (48) coupled to a connecting pipe (42) is arranged on the outside surface of the band-shaped ring (46) and has a hole (47) for the connecting pipe (42) to be inserted. The pressing member (48) is arranged so as not to impede the rotation of the club head (4-1). The shape of the ring (46) can be changed by changing the vertical height of the connecting pipe (42).
[38] Next, the process of practicing golf swing in accordance with the present invention will be described.
[39] To begin with, a circular swing track (14) is installed inside the four adjusting stoppers (12). After the swing track (14) is installed, a user takes up the posture on a base (10). Then, a golfer holds a golf club (4) and rotates a club head (4-1) along the trajectory of the swing track (14). In this way, a user can practice a swing posture according to the circular swing track (14). The shape of the swing track (14) maintains a true circle unless the adjusting stopper (12) presses the swing track (14).
[40] In case a user wants to practice different swing pattern, the swing track (14) can be easily changed by adjusting the adjusting stopper (12).
[41] As shown in Fig. 6 to 8, the swing track (14) can be changed by a fourth adjusting bolt (44). If the fourth adjusting bolt (44) is rotated downwardly, the connecting pipe (42) threadedly engaged with the fourth adjusting bolt (44) moves downwardly. Consequently, a pressing member (48) coupled to the connecting pipe (42) presses the
outside surface of the ring (46), thus changing the shape of the ring (46). As a result, a user can practice different swing posture according to the changed swing trajectory.
[42] As shown in fig. 6, the shape of a left side of the swing track (14) can be changed by rotating the fourth adjusting bolt (44) downwardly. Likewise, as shown in Fig. 7, the shape of a right side can be changed by rotating the fourth adjusting bolt (44) downwardly.
[43] Therefore, it becomes possible to change the circular shape of the swing track (14) with different shape as if a golfer swings in a field golf course.
[44] As shown in Fig. 8, the swing track (14) can be changed into a horizontally oval shape or vertically oval shape by adjusting the two of the fourth adjusting bolts (44).
[45] According to the present invention, a golfer can practice various swing posture, for example address, take away, down swing, impact, follow up swing etc. with one swing track. As a result, there is no need to replace a circular swing track with different one to exercise different swing posture.
[46] While the invention has been shown and described in respect to one preferred embodiment, this is for the illustrative purpose only and is not intended to limit the scope of the invention by no means. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.
