Abstract

　低ビットレート時に顔輪郭部でイントラ予測モードの選択を誤った場合に画質劣化が大きくなるという課題があった。 　入力画像に対して顔検出を行う顔検出部と、顔検出部からの顔検出結果に基づいてイントラ予測モードの制御を行うイントラ予測モード制御部を備え、イントラ予測モードの制御は、現在処理するブロックが顔領域のどの位置に位置するかに基づいてイントラ予測モードの選択を行うことにより、顔輪郭部のイントラ予測モードを適切に選択することができるため、低ビットレート時の顔画像の画質劣化を改善することが出来る。
