Abstract
Disclosed is a method for producing a toner by employing a pulverization process using a binder resin comprising a polyester resin, which enables to produce a toner having a high transfer ratio and a high charging property while reducing the amount of a charge control agent used in the pulverization process. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a positively chargeable toner for static charge image development by using a raw material comprising a binder resin comprising a polyester resin, a wax, a charge control agent and a coloring agent, which comprises: a heating/mixing step of heating and kneading the binder resin, the wax, the charge control agent and the coloring agent to produce a kneaded material; a pulverizing step of pulverizing the kneaded material to produce a pulverized material; and a spheroidizing step of heating the pulverized material in a fluidized state in the stream of air to spheroidize the heated material, wherein the charge control agent comprises a copolymer having a specified quaternary ammonium salt group, and wherein the flow tester 4mm-descent temperature (as defined in the description) of the polyester resin (T4r; °C) and the flow tester 4mm-descent temperature of the charge control agent (T4c;°C) meet the following formula: T4c < T4r+10°C.
