Abstract

An air compressor (1) has a compressed air generation device (3) for generating compressed air, a tank section (2) for containing the compressed air generated by the compressed air generation device (3), a motor (4) for driving the compressed air generation device (3), and a controller (5) for controlling the amount of drive of the motor (4). The tank section (2) is provided with a pressure detection device (12) for detecting the state of the pressure of the compressed air contained in the tank section (2). The controller (5) adjusts the amount of drive of the motor (4) based on the state of the pressure detected by the pressure detection device (12).
