Abstract
Disclosed is an illuminating device utilizing an organic electroluminescent element having high luminous efficiency and improved continuous operation life. Specifically disclosed is an illuminating device using an organic electroluminescent element which is composed of a substrate, a cathode, an anode, an organic layer interposed between the cathode and the anode, and a sealing member. This illuminating device is characterized in that the substrate has a thermal conductivity of 2-3000 W/m K.
