Abstract

A technique is disclosed which provides a QoS resource reserving method and others wherein the number of signalings can be reduced, the loads of MNs and networks can be reduced and wherein the time required to complete a QoS reservation for a new communication path can be shorten. According to the technique, a first home agent transmits a first message confirming the availability of QoS resources. A relay node having received the first message designates, as the destination of the first message, a second home agent and forwards it to the second home agent. The second home agent transmits, to a path for which a QoS resource selected based on the first message can be shifted/coordinated, a second message including the shifting/coordinating amount, and further performs a processing for a QoS resource reservation for the path from a new communication terminal to a mobile terminal (1) via itself. A relay node having received the second message designates, as the destination of the second message, the first home agent, and forwards it to the first home agent. The first home agent then performs, based on the second message, a processing for the QoS resource reservation for a path from the new communication terminal to the mobile terminal via itself.
