Abstract

An illuminating device is provided with a plurality of straight-tube-shaped cold cathode fluorescent lamps (2), and a device main body (1) wherein the cold cathode fluorescent lamps (2) are arranged in parallel. The cold cathode fluorescent lamps (2) are arranged in a state where end sections of the adjacent cold cathode fluorescent lamps (2) are shifted from each other in the longitudinal direction. The end section of the device main body (1) has a shape formed along the front and rear arrangement positions of the end sections of the cold cathode fluorescent lamps (2).
