Abstract
A radio communication device capable of minimizing the deterioration of the separation characteristic of a response signal to be code-multiplexed. In this device, a control unit (209) sets the ZC sequence of the cyclic shift amount corresponding to a PUCCH number inputted from a determination section (208) to a diffusion section (214) and sets the blockwise diffusion code sequence corresponding to the PUCCH number inputted from the determination section (208) to a diffusion section (217). The diffusion section (214) applies primary diffusion to the response signal by using the ZC sequence and the diffusion section (217) applies secondary diffusion to the response signal to which the primary diffusion has been applied by using the blockwise diffusion code sequence. The blockwise diffusion code sequence is generated by multiplying a basic code sequence which is part of an Walsh sequence by a cell-specific code sequence.
