Abstract

A communication system which can perform communication surely between apparatuses with high degree of freedom in arrangement of apparatuses. A transmitter/receiver (1) mainly comprises a transmitting/receiving circuit (11) having a transmitting section for transmitting an information signal while converting it into an electric field and a receiving section for receiving the electric field and converting it into the information signal, a switching circuit (12) for switching the switch (13) between individual electrodes (14a-14e) receiving the electric field signal through a transmission medium (3), and a control circuit (15) for controlling the switching of the switch (13) in the switching circuit (12). A transmitter/receiver (2) mainly comprises a transmitting/receiving circuit (21) having a transmitting section for transmitting an information signal while converting it into an electric field and a receiving section for receiving the electric field and converting it into the information signal, and electrodes (22a, 22b) for receiving the electric field signal transmitted through the transmission medium (3).
