Abstract
It is made possible to crimp, when crimping a terminal to an end part of an electric wire, the terminal to the same at several sites at different compression rates without increasing the management points in manufacturing. A terminal crimping apparatus for crimping a crimping portion of a terminal to a conductor exposed in an end part of an electric wire comprises an anvil (40) for supporting the crimping portion in such a manner as to place it thereon and a crimper so disposed as to move closer to or away from the anvil (40). The anvil (40) is formed with a plurality of crimping planes (42a, 42b) along the longitudinal direction of the conductor to which the terminal is to be crimped. The crimping planes (42a, 42b) are formed in different levels, resulting in deforming the bottom of the crimping portion in different forms.
