Abstract
[PROBLEMS] To provide a process for producing a polyimide compound, in which the phenomenon of spontaneous rise of reaction solution during polymerization reaction by the Weissenberg effect can be inhibited in the production of a polyimide compound synthesized through a polymerization reaction between acid dianhydride and diamine. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Any water formed by polymerization reaction is refluxed into the reaction system, so that increasing of the viscosity of the reaction solution can be inhibited to thereby attain inhibition of the phenomenon of spontaneous rise of the reaction solution. By refluxing so that the amount of water formed by the polymerization reaction falls within the range of 0.01 to 1.1 wt.% based on the total weight of the reaction solution, there can be obtained a polyimide compound of polymerization degree as high as realizing the production of a polyimide film of 10 μm or more thickness.
