Abstract

 本発明は、シール装置周辺の空間が詰まったり砂等が滞留するのを防ぎ、エロージョンを防止して耐摩耗性を高くし、破損等が生じても機内側への損害を防止することができ、耐久性が高くメンテナンスコストを低減できるメカニカルシール装置を提供する。シール装置をタンデムシールとすることにより、機内側メカニカルシールの機内側空間にインジェクションフラッシングを行えるようにする。またシールカバーの機内側の端部を、装置のハウジング内周面を被覆するように機内側に筒状に延伸させる。これにより機内側メカニカルシール近傍の固形物の滞留や、固形物の濃度増加によるエロージョンの発生を防ぐことができる。
